The NMMA has said that the larger, faster, lighter boating industry is being driven by a younger market.
That market is looking for speed... requiring more engines...but being young, they don't want to give up anything...in particular - performance
They want long-term durability in the water and resistance to wave-slamming loads, as well as heat resistance beneath the ever-popular dark paint colors
All this requires the need for reduced weight in composite hulls and decks
A particularly effective combination of Carbon Fiber and Epoxy may be just the answer to this complex set of requirements...though more costly, Carbon Fiber is beginning to replace fiberglass in even the mid-range boats
